Cabinet boxes are thin plywood stapled and glued rather than joined. Wall panels are printed vinyl over lauan or Azdel, thin enough to flex under a thumb. Countertops are frequently a laminate over particle board. None of that is contempt for the buyer; it is the arithmetic of towing weight and payload, and it means interiors age faster than houses do. It also means a remodel is a genuinely worthwhile investment in a way that is not true of most vehicles. A twenty year old coach with sound structure, a good roof and a tired interior can be brought back to something better than it left the factory, because the replacement materials available now are better than what the builder used and the labor is not constrained by an assembly line schedule. Owners routinely keep coaches decades longer this way. OCRV Center does this work in shop at the Yorba Linda facility, roughly twenty miles from Eastvale by way of SR-71 and SR-91. Interior work needs the coach stationary, powered, climate controlled and dust managed, and it needs storage space for everything that comes out of it. The 35,000 square foot building accommodates long coaches through multi-week projects without anything having to be moved outside and back. Storage for removed cabinetry and furniture is part of that square footage. ## What makes RV interior work different from home remodeling? Weight and movement. A granite slab that is perfectly reasonable in a kitchen becomes a payload and handling problem in a coach, and a tile floor that would last forever in a house cracks along its grout lines within a season of highway travel. Every material choice has to survive constant vibration and flexing. Materials that work are the ones with some give: luxury vinyl plank, solid surface rather than stone, plywood rather than particle board. Fastening changes too. Nothing in a coach attaches to a stud in a wall the way it does at home, because the wall is a thin laminate with framing on wide centers. Cabinets and fixtures mount to framing members that have to be located, or to backing that has to be added. It starts with the structure, not the finishes. Before discussing cabinet doors and countertop colors, we meter the floor and lower walls for moisture, check the slide rooms, look at the roof condition and inspect for any prior water intrusion. Building a beautiful interior over a wet subfloor is the most common way a remodel goes wrong, and finding that condition later means tearing out finished work. Once structure is known, the project is broken into phases with prices traced to the posted bands rather than a single lump figure. Owners can then choose scope honestly: flooring and upholstery now, cabinets and countertops later, or all of it at once. Often yes, particularly if the chassis, roof and structure are sound and you like the floor plan. A remodel costs a fraction of a newer coach and lets you specify materials that are better than what any builder installs at volume. Where it stops making sense is when there is extensive structural water damage, since at that point you are paying to rebuild the shell before you improve anything. ### Can you match materials in a partial remodel? Sometimes exactly, more often closely. Original RV wall panels, cabinet finishes and flooring are frequently discontinued, and a fifteen year old vinyl print will have faded away from anything currently made. Where an exact match is not possible, the usual approach is to carry the new material to a natural break so the transition reads as a design choice rather than a repair. We show you samples in place first. ### How long will my coach be at the shop for interior work? A single item such as a countertop or a lighting conversion is often a few days. Flooring or upholstery typically runs one to two weeks. A full interior remodel commonly runs four to ten weeks and larger projects longer, driven mostly by material lead times and by how much has to come out before anything goes back in. You get a target at authorization and updates as it moves. ### Do you handle water damage claims for interiors? Yes. Sudden events such as a plumbing failure or a storm intrusion are commonly covered, while gradual leaks often are not, and that determination belongs to your carrier. What we provide is thorough documentation: moisture mapping, photographs, and an itemized scope separating the source repair from the interior restoration. That clarity helps the claim proceed whichever way coverage lands. ### Do you do any of this work at my location in Eastvale? No. All interior work is performed in shop at the Yorba Linda facility. Demolition, dust control, cutting, finishing and drying equipment all require a controlled indoor environment, and open interiors cannot be exposed to weather.
