## Hoods, fairings and composite repair

A tractor hood is expensive and slow to source, so repair is usually the right call when the structure is intact. Cracks in a molded hood get repaired the same way any structural composite is repaired: grind a wide scarf through the damaged plies, rebuild with progressively larger layers of matched reinforcement and resin, then fair to the original contour. Hinge and latch mounting points get inspected because a hood that has been flexing has often worked its mounts loose.
