Cargo vans are tools, and they show it. The damage that brings one in is rarely a single dramatic collision. It is accumulated: a corner clipped at a supply yard, a rear door swung into a post, a rocker crushed against a loading dock, a roof corner scraped under a low canopy. Individually each item is minor. Collectively they make a vehicle that represents a business look neglected.
The interior tells its own story. Shelving bolted through the floor with no sealing washers lets water into the floor pan. A bulkhead installed with self tappers into the roof bow leaves eight unsealed holes. Wall liner absorbs spilled material and holds it against the steel. On a van that is five or six years into service, opening the liner reveals corrosion that started at a fastener the day the upfit was installed.

Dock rash and the lower body
Loading dock damage concentrates in a band from the rear bumper forward along the rocker. Rear corners get crushed inward, bumper ends get torn from their mounts, and the rocker takes a series of shallow dents that eventually crack the paint film along the crease. That cracked film is the start of the corrosion problem, because a working van is washed rarely and parked outdoors constantly, so the exposed metal stays wet.
Repair strategy on a working vehicle balances appearance against cost. Not every dent needs a panel. A rocker with intact metal and cracked paint gets straightened, treated, primed and refinished with a blend into the adjacent panel. A rocker that is creased and perforated gets a section replacement. Both approaches include treating the inside of the panel and restoring the drain path, because sealing a repair without draining the cavity simply sets up a repeat.

Doors, hinges and the hardware that stops a route
A door that will not latch takes a van off the road faster than a dent ever will. Rear barn doors on a loaded van get slammed against their stops thousands of times, and hinges wear until the door sits low and the latch misses the striker. Owners compensate by lifting the door as they close it, which accelerates the wear. Repair replaces hinge pins and bushings, repairs the body side mounting if the hinge has pulled, then sets latch and striker geometry.
Sliding doors fail at rollers and at the track, and the failure often follows an impact nobody reported. A door struck while open bends the track at the center, and from then on the door binds at the same point. Repair replaces the roller assemblies, straightens or replaces the track, and verifies the door closes into the aperture with even gap and continuous seal contact. Weather seals get replaced at the same time because they are usually flattened by then.
Upfits, liners and lettering
Removing an upfit for body repair is an opportunity. With the shelving and the liner out, the floor pan and lower walls are visible for the first time since installation. Corrosion at shelf fastener locations gets treated and repaired, unsealed holes get closed properly, and the liner goes back with sealing at the fasteners rather than dry. Where a bulkhead was installed with penetrations into the roof bows, those get sealed correctly during reinstallation.
Lettering and graphics are the last stage. A van that carries a business name has to come back looking like the vehicle the owner is proud to park in a customer driveway. Existing graphics get measured and photographed before removal, and replacement decals get applied over fully cured paint with correct surface preparation. Where only part of the van was refinished, the graphic layout gets planned so the break falls at a body line rather than mid panel.
