A cube van is two structures with different failure modes sharing one set of wheels. The cab is a production vehicle with automotive panels and paint. The box behind it is a purpose built cargo body, typically fiberglass reinforced panel bonded to an aluminum or steel frame, with a translucent roof to light the interior and a roll up door at the back. Repair estimates almost always cover both.
The box is where the damage concentrates. Corner posts get struck in alleys and parking structures. The rear frame takes dock impacts. Side panels get scraped by gates and pillars. The translucent roof panel yellows, crazes and eventually cracks, and once it cracks it leaks over whatever is loaded underneath. The roll up door goes off its track, loses spring tension or bends a slat, and then the van cannot be loaded at all.

Box panels, corner posts and rear frame
Fiberglass reinforced panel bodies are built as a stressed skin over extruded frame members. The corner posts are the vertical extrusions at each rear corner, and they tie the roof rail, the side rail and the rear frame together. A strike at that corner deforms the post and opens the joints above and below it, so the damage extends further than the visible dent. Repair replaces the post rather than pulling it, because a straightened extrusion will not hold the joint geometry.
Panel repair depends on the construction. Bonded FRP panels can be sectioned and re bonded with structural adhesive where the substrate is intact, using a scarfed joint and a backing member. Where the core is crushed or the panel is delaminated over a large area, replacement of the full panel between frame members is the correct answer. The rear frame, which takes the dock impacts, gets straightened or sectioned with matching extrusion and new fasteners.

Roll up doors and the track system
A roll up door is a set of hinged slats riding in side tracks, counterbalanced by a torsion spring in the drum at the top. Every part of that assembly wears. Slats bend when something shifts against them in transit, hinges elongate, rollers seize, tracks bend at the bottom where forklift and pallet contact happens, and the spring loses tension until the door is too heavy to lift. Owners usually report it as a door that will not stay up.
Repair addresses the assembly as a system. Bent slats get replaced individually where the rest are sound. Tracks get straightened or replaced, particularly at the lower section. Rollers and hinges get replaced as a set so the door runs evenly. The torsion spring gets adjusted or replaced to the correct rating for the door weight, which is a procedure with real hazard and belongs in a shop with the proper tooling rather than being attempted in a yard.
Roof panels, cab gap and finish
The translucent roof panel on a cube body is a consumable. Ultraviolet exposure yellows it, hail crazes it, and thermal cycling opens the bond at the roof rails. Replacement removes the old panel, cleans the bonding surfaces on the rails completely, and sets a new panel with the correct adhesive and bead. Doing this properly requires the body indoors at a controlled temperature, which is one reason it is a shop job rather than a yard job.
The gap between the cab and the box is a persistent water path. Most cube vans have a flexible boot or a sealed plate at that transition, and it fails from movement over time. Water then runs down the back of the cab and into the cargo area or the cab floor. Repair rebuilds that transition with a detail that allows movement. Refinishing the box, whether a full repaint or a panel blend, and applying fleet lettering complete the job.
